Boomkat Product Review:
Cryptic transmissions from Synthonic Matter. 'Sumerian' appears as part of STL's esoteric Something catalogue, traversing the terrain of lo-fi beats, synth noise and sampledelic electronica with an experimental lean. We'd point towards the styles of Sh*tcluster or even NMB as reference points for his sound, namely in the warped construction of grainy textures and abstract techno traits, but Synthonic Matter is also under the influence of something more psychedelic and unquantifiable. Half of the tracks are lengthy, freeform exercises in cranky improv arrangement, tentatively finding their way through analogue black holes and fried circuit boards, while others are like alien hieroglyph's transcribed into crooked jam sessions where we'd imagine the air to be thick with potent smoke and and the familiar smell of musty vintage hardware. Odd sh*t for sure!
