Boomkat Product Review:
"Giuseppe Ielasi is an Italian guitar player with a long-ranging history in improvised music. He runs the Milan-based micro label Senufo Editions. In 2008, Ielasi released the first installation of his ‘Stunt’ series, with sequels in 2009 (‘(Another) Stunt’) and 2010 (‘(Third) Stunt’). The concept of improvised and processed guitar was extended towards a more rhythmic approach, enhancing Ielasi’s research on form and texture with a raw and unhewn twist.
In 2013 Holiday Records released ‘Stunt (Appendix)’ in form of a 3 x 7” boxset. Inspired by turntableism Giuseppe Ielasi exclusively used vinyl records to generate, in his own words, “fragmented dance cadences”. Listeners might cite Jan Jelinek or Institute für Feinmotorik as reference. Unfortunately, the record never saw a digital release but in 2015, just ahead of a brand new LP on Error Broadcast, we are happy to re-publish ‘Stunt (Appendix)’ in digital form. “A soulful jam for slippery dancefloors".
