Boomkat Product Review:
Straight into the A-side stretch of ‘Du Fehlst Mir’ and we find ourselves back at the time when Fehlmann was closely involved with Basic Channel – an unbeleivably spacious, deep and well produced float on dense air, space echoes and distant bass-kicks, lillting hints of melody and a drop into clarity and loveliness. Absolutely classic stuff. ‘Streets of Blah’ is more contemporary, following Kompakt’s specially termed ‘Shuffle Techno’ blueprint with a looped pattern of percussion and dense groove, once again produced with the kind of trademarked originality and skill that have made Mr Fehlmann so many admirers over the years. ‘Rotenfaden’, meanwhile, is yet another transition – house grooves coated in grinding bass and twilight keys, making for another mighty Kompakt 12” that showcases the breadth and scope of this mans talent. Recommended.
