Boomkat Product Review:
Berlin Schüle acolyte Steve Moore re-enters L.I.E.S.’s orbit on a furtive sci-fi synth mission
Materialising 7 years since his early pair of 12”s ‘Zero-Point Field’ and ‘Panther Moderns’ for Ron Morelli’s label, this eponymous outing encapsulates all angles of Moore’s style, trekking from scenes of super stark, haunting atmosphere and tentative electro drum machine programming in ‘Broken Kills’, to a gorgeous space station romance theme with gently spiralling arps that trace the spine of ‘Future 99’ on the A-side.
Meanwhile the B-side pulls out a slow and warm stripe of percolated bass pulses blushing with effervescent, rising chords on ‘Eigengrau’ in a style recalling Tolouse Low Trax, before he turns on the boosters to burn up on entry with ‘Future 86.’
