Boomkat Product Review:
Ludovic Navarre reveals his eponymous follow-up to the coffee table-ubiquitous 'Tourist'. In a classic play, he fuses the light jazz blues of his former effort with a palette of Afro-centric voices, influences and instrumentation that's perhaps more reflective of his Parisian environment and headspace in the modern day.
No worries, though; it's still laidback and authentically "chill", as you might have been hoping. The roll-call is full virtuoso players - Mamadou Cherif Soumano (Kora), Cheikh Lo Ouza Diallo (Kora), Adama Coulibaly (Kamele N'Goni), among them - united by St. Germain's vision of house music and trimmed to fit his exacting, populist appeal.
If you're the type of listener who only buys one record a year, this one probably ticks a lot of your boxes.
