Boomkat Product Review:
Luscious, blooming drone-pop split from Alex Cobb aka Taiga Remains, and Ryan Potts aka Aquarelle. Both artists are very much on the same wavelength here, confidently steering wide of the "otherwise microwaved and unimaginative drones steadily filling up the musical landscape" with an instinctive, unpredictable feel for texture and arrangement. Cobb's side breaks down into two tracks; a shorter, more subdued section of cold-water strings and phosphorescent harmonics, and a longer stretch ebbing and flowing between prickly gas clouds and tantalisingly semiopaque melodies. Aquarelle's side is one long composition, patiently evolving from what sounds like a jangly mandolin and keys into gritty harmonic belches and decayed ambience. RIYL Fennesz.
