Boomkat Product Review:
Taut, shark-eyed EBM/wave moves from Victor Lenis aka Cute Heels, a Colombian ex-pat currently stationed in Brussels. Hailed "the new blood and spirit for the next step in techno music" by none other than Juan Atkins, Cute Heels lives up to that mantle with a skilfully intuitive meld of early Chicago, Detroit and new wave elements splitting the difference between Drexciya, Liasons Dangereuses and Ron Hardy. Eight songs spin outwards from the beatless black hole of 'La Symphonie' into rugged, blistered forms taking shape as hydraulic EBM in 'Sv Forest', synthy romance on 'Spiritual', classy industrial funk in 'Metal Disco' and spark-spitting electro on 'Methaphysic the Method' or the Kraftwerkian 'Calibre 2000', before sealing the doors with noisy, discordant synth bomb, 'Future Dancers Last Rockers'. Go with Juan on this one, it's a belter.
