Boomkat Product Review:
Hiroshi Watanabe, veteran of a string of productions for labels of the calibre of Nite Grooves, and after a trio of supremely well received twelves for Kompakt - not to mention his residency at New york's infamous tunnel club, at last drops the album he has been promising all along. His performance at Barcelona's Sonar festival will stay with those who heard it for a very long time, this fine set bridges deep house feelings from the top drawer with a special kind of reduced big arena trance, hearts rather than hands in the air. The single "Everlasting" is present, as is an awesome beatless cut of "Awakening" - "Breaking the star" has more to do with Carl Craig as BFC than the "trance" tag might suggest. Take the inspired downbeat of "Inside River" at a more Theo friendly tempo, while "Intension" twinkles like the Mediterranean. House albums as good as this come along infrequently - Kaito will defintiely achieve promotion to major league status with this accomplished and varied set.
