Boomkat Product Review:
Coming on large all over your speaker systems for most of this summer, Mr. Mayer assures himself a place at the head of the queue, when the end of year rewards for commitment to partying are handed out. As if his monster version of the Sadé classic "Love Is Stronger Than Pride" wasn't enough, we then had to deal with the immense "Immer" mix cd this summer and now a tune of tunes. Destined to see you standing on tables, out of it, giving it plenty throughout the dark evenings of the northern hemisphere, "Speaker" sets its stall out as slinky from the start. "I'm not a talker, i'm a speaker" runs the spoken vocal, before one jive-assed, plain bumping piece of house music, leaves you in no doubt - this is already a dancefloor must. When this baby cuts loose, by gum you know it - heads down acid with a Chicago based rhythm guaranteed to dominate. "Sneaker" takes things more euro, a repeating motif like bittersweet Moroder, takes us still further into the heart of the dance. Stick it straight in your box, next to the Justus Kohncke twelve, the best bits of Closer Musik and Michael's aforementioned Sadé buster - and make ready to stone rock the party. Quality assured.
