Sorry I Took So Long Ep (Boomkat Exclusive)
*Exclusive upfront download* 'Sorry I Took So Long' is the debut release from the excellently monikered My Panda Shall Fly. After Dam Mantle, he's expands the Growing Records roster to two, backed with some remix assists from his labelmate, Pirate Soundsystem and Do Re Mi. His sound lands squarely in the synth-driven quadrant shared by Becoming Real, Throwing Snow or Koreless, showing some deftly jazzy chops on the sunblind chords of 'Injury', while 'Xerox' leans on a clipped halfstep vibe with swirling gamer bleeps and 'Yoyo' feels like some electronic dread gospel oddity. The Dam Mantle refit of 'Xerox' further discombobulates his surging bleeps to seasick effect while Pirate Soundsystem take 'YoYo' to the middle of the 'floor and Do Re Mi do a fluid 2-step overhaul of 'Injury'. Very good indeed.
