Boomkat Product Review:
Beautifully balmy, cyber-sensual hybrids from Zoology's Glass Eyes. Drawing parallels with Jon Hassell's 4th World 'tronics and early '90s Techno as much as the modern cloud sounds of Al Tariq or Karmelloz and label mates Delaweare and Everglade, the 'Solutions' EP offers the answers to dreamiest visions of modern electronica. Blessed with filigree detailing and complex structures, all four tracks exist in a creamy hyperspace of fluid contours and airborne percussive cadence, soaring vast pixellated landscapes of tumbling trap/jungle rhythms and vaulted harmonies in 'Ry4' to the stormier gradients and plush ambient echospace of 'Evo', dancing to the traditional music of distant, exotic Sims relatives in 'Lotion' and writhing frictionless against the glossed electro-soul surfaces and sweeping subbass shapes of 'Save The World'. The fact that there is no firm name for this sound says a lot - it's feels so genuinely fresh and exciting. Don't fight it.
