Boomkat Product Review:
The kind of abstract jerk-rock evident on Volcano!'s erratic, dextrous 'So Many Lemons' might be an adventurous, rhythmically potent brew but its also somewhat exhausting and difficult to settle into. Fortunately a couple of electronic remixes are on hand to detangle the breakneck guitars and vocal histrionics. Lee J. Malcolm's take on 'Slow Jam' is loaded with texture and energy, sounding a bit like something that might come about from a collaboration between Four Tet, Sparks and David Byrne, while the He Can Jog remix of 'Skillman Avenue Just Wants To Have Fun' sounds like a pop hit that's been yanked out of the top 40 at some point in 2137.
