Surely one of the greatest 12"s of all time, a record you could (and we have) play on a loop for hours and still feel that belly flop everytime it goes back to the start.
Released in 1999, 'Smile' was the fourth release on the label and is for many its best - a three track EP featuring Savage on the title track. There's really nowt to it, just a single washed-out pad, a kickdrum and some chords, plus that sparse vocal delivery. You could prob write a book about why the total is so much more than the sum of its parts - but we have literally spent hours uplifted and moved beyond words by the spell it casts.
Distance and Range on the flip offer another deep dive into the aether, not quite with the same emotional impact as the title cut, but still fathoms, fathoms deep.
At 30 mins, the digital version is really more like an album really, just watch yr love for it doesnt turn to obsession.
One of the greatest ever.
