UK Hiphop has become a much maligned beast in recent years. Elder statesmen like Roots Manuva are still highly respected, but their street-level credibility has been somewhat eroded. So, step forward Giggs, the London Hiphop phenomena, rapping against the disjointed grain of Grime with a slow and purposeful style full of real-life relevance. Now signed to XL after a slew of underground anthems, Giggs is being pushed towards the mainstream with some help from the erstwhile Mike Skinner of The Streets, doing what he does best with some sing-a-long chorus accompaniment, now with obligatory autotune! Giggs sounds he's just smoked a massive blunt and realised he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders, which is always a good look in Hip-Hop so we'd imagine this will do well.
