Boomkat Product Review:
One of those records you sometimes find by accident – infuriating label design makes this something very easy to pass over in the stores – but the tunes prove to be worth the effort for those of you in a north american soul-techno state of mind. Opeming with Marc Deon’s acoustic songery, things soon ramp up a notch or two – Naz offers the soulful unmistakeable chug of class michigan / chitown action – bounce your body to the sensual sounds of ‘Troubled Times’. Bumper’s mix of Marc Deon and vasili offers lumpen intransigent darkside detroit business – further ghosts of ron hardy infecting the machine. Eli Bingham’s offering is a far perkier affiar – boogie and vocoder I equal measure make for a nostalgic hankering for classic status. Tapio Schnaars seems ot have been badly damaged by the yeasty infection of european handbag trance and does nothing for this listener, but the rest is worth exploring.
