Boomkat Product Review:
This is an expanded digital remaster of the original 1982 album, packaged together with all the tracks featured on the associated singles releases on the Fetish label. Seven Songs was the debut full-length from 23 Skidoo and at the time was hailed by Paul Morley (then writing for the NME) as "One of the most exciting records I've heard since Unknown Pleasures". Sure enough, the album must have sounded formidable and challenging in its day, and even some twenty-six years on its industrial funk rhythms and multi-ethnic, no-wave leanings are startlingly ambitious, though amongst all the experimentation genuine pop gems like 'Last Words' shine brightly.
