Boomkat Product Review:
Mule Musiq have the honour of collating eleven sublime, previously unreleased pieces from Roedelius' nebulous library spanning 1990 thru 2011. The krautrock pioneer is widely adored for his work with a string of influential groups in the late '60s and especially the '70s - Cluster, Harmonia, Aquarello - and has remained an active and constant presence in electronic music ever since. And, as this CD proves, he's still completely relevant today. Opening to the instantly arresting harmonic thrum of 'Per Se', the collection cycles breezily thru lush pieces such as 'Vienna 2020' comparable with recent Wolfgang Voigt experiments, to the eerie, alien scapes of 'Coulours' and the sophisticated classicism of 'Endless', taking in typically Teutonic quirks on 'Quasi' and 'Frolic At Six' and drifting out to jazz-tinted solo piano pleasure of 'As Simple As'.
