Boomkat Product Review:
**Gatefold 2LP** Sweden's Bremen play out a dramatic yet sensitively dubbed vision of instrumental space-rock with sophomore album, 'Second Launch', their first for Blackest Ever Black. Bremen are two members of the Swedish punk scene; relative veteran Lanchy Orre ov Brainbombs on guitar, and Jonas Tiljander on organ, synth and FX. Their eponymous debut LP, issued in 2013 on Skrammel Records, set out a method of improvised jams reinforced with overdubs, which they've refined and expanded to a blindingly cosmic yet introspective sound for BEB owing as much to kraut and prog rock as to early electronics and drone music. From their lush flux of reverb and feedback emerges eleven songs, many of them over ten minutes long, driven by loping motorik drums and crucial, painterly use of analogue synth to evoke "nothing less than the vast emptiness of outer space and the obliteration of all meaning and identity in the face of it", according to the label.
