Boomkat Product Review:
The Hague's legendary and notorious UMA regroup on four bilgy pumpers for the techno hardcore. It's a timely return from the progenitors of the Dutch West Coast scene - Guy Tavares, I-F, Jan, and MennoVan Os - offering their darkly narcotic and bruising style amidst a revival and re-exploration of raw, uncompromising industrial techno from Metasplice to Container, Kareem, Ancient Methods and Opal Tapes. On plate 1 the A-side pumps like Ekoplekz with a dose of Dance Mania while the B-side kicks up clods of broken machine rhythm and spectral noise to wreck your noggin. For plate 2 they lock into a deadly uptempo momentum spanked with squealing electronics and blistered layers of percussion, all with a proper raw, roiling instinct while the D-side goes monotone, noisy and stomping. Badass.
