Boomkat Product Review:
Bullion's kaleidoscopic imagination settles on two brilliant pieces of psyched-out beat works for his One Handed imprint. Like the very best psyche-rock and obscure funk from which he sources his material, the A-side 'Say Goodbye To What' is an analog sample-jam, jarring what could be a recording of tribal native Americans against jazz-fusion violins and a sped-up folk vocal made to sound eerily bubblegum and junky, blended in the arcane interzone of his MPC. The flipside 'Crazy Over You' is a slightly more standard beat-driven trip, nodding in the direction of the late J Dilla with a frayed, unquantised lope, before being spatially flung in all directions with masterful processing techniques. As always, Bullion's beats here are incredibly charming and simply sound like very few others out there. A must for fans of The Gaslamp Killer, Flying Lotus or the Finders Keepers cabal.
