Boomkat Product Review:
As the story goes, this EP from Ali Gibbs' Nebraska project was actually shelved a week before the original release date nearly 10 years ago due to the distributor going under. So finally to appease the baying disco and house mobs Rush Hour have done the right thing and given it a loving resissue, with the original tracks still intact. For those that don't know, Nebraska made some killer disco, jazz and soul fused electronica in the early 90's with occassional help from disco funk legend James Mason and more recently released a wicked 12" with remixes from Stasis on Downlow Music. His sound will appeal directly to lovers of Theo Parrish, Trus'me or the Firecracker crew with an experienced blend of rare samples, original production and learned disco knowledge, perfectly displayed on 'The Other Side' with symphonic strings, bubbling machine beats and sky flying synthlines merging to make any dancefloor beam with joy, or a remix of his legendary 'My Father' made for guaranteed instant floor reactions. If you're a fan of any of the named heads above or any of that Detroit school of Rick Wade, Mike Huckaby, KDJ and co this is right up your alley.
