Boomkat Product Review:
The first indication that Lexie Mountain Boys are going all out to blow your respective minds is that they are all in fact WOMEN. Mental. But that gender curveball isn't the only wallop from leftfield: this is an acappella album, and not in the refined, processed fashion of Bjork's Medulla or Camille's Music Hole, more in a ceremonial, tribal chanting sort of fashion. Anyone who heard the Baltimore group's Sexy Fountain Noise album will have a pretty god idea of the direction this is headed in. These songs are raw, often nonsensical, and seldom concern themselves with anything so conventional as actual lyrics. Instead, you get songs like 'Filled With It, Possessed', which sounds a bit like childbirth.
