Boomkat Product Review:
Good to see Rod Modell back again on Echochord, in a week ripe with dub infected twelves. Echochord have chosen their template wisely and well, cleaving closely to the Chain Reaction modell of drive and dub showers. As a follow up to their more detroit based manoeuvres on Deepchord, it seemed the logical step. This is four tracks wide and all of them highly recommendable - 'Psychic attack' keeps things relatively chilled, but shockingly deep to begin - this could be an unissued Rhythm + Sound piece, the vibe is that strong, while 'Space age mythology' shifts into a more percussive phase, ultra low frequencies still and a floor friendly flow carrying the momentum nicely. 'Avionics' develops on the berlin template, bubbling up again with a seismic low-end agenda, ending on a delightful reggaematical chugger with 'Rain'. Heavy manners as always from echochord - spellbinding stuff.
