Boomkat Product Review:
Another highly sought-after future-retro synth relic from OPN, digitised from the original C20 tape release on the Young Tapes label. From the angelic pastoral opening of 'Gates Of Sanct Vacui' we pass into 'Actual Air', a gossamer mesh of almost Millsian machine rhythm pulses and mystical Eastern melodies before the heart melting melodrama of the title track, vividly recalling the most sensitive sci-fi soundtrack-y cuts from Leyland Kirby, the European baroque of Cluster or even Tuxedomoon with a wordless emotional attraction which we've absolutely no resistance to. 'Ships Without Meaning' completes the release, vibing out on ten minutes of blossoming polysynth chord sequences with a new-agey bliss that uncannily reminds us of sample traces in AGCG's 'Black Secret Technology'. Needless to say, it's beautiful.
