Boomkat Product Review:
Dropping way back in 2005, ‘Rubber Bullets’ documents an aggressive period in Dominick Fernow’s Prurient canon. This was the year his breakthrough ‘Black Vase’ dropped, and ‘Rubber Bullets’ contains a similar urgency and diabolical streak as the mass of fractured electronics and white noise wrenches itself from the tape spools. Distant screams and hollow guitar drones slowly push their way through the destruction but the mood doesn’t change – this is misanthropic, deeply sexualized industrial music. Not for the uninitiated, and all the better for it.
