Boomkat Product Review:
Chunky, nicely swung analog bombs from Moire on Rush Hour, the follow-up to his debut on Actress's Werk Discs. 'I Don't Get It' is hard-grooving, faintly trippy house, plain and simple, with a nod to the time-dilating disco-mist of Newworldaquarium and finished with some smart soul licks. The title track 'Rolx' rides into deeper techno climes, its triplet rhythm equal parts schaffel and glitterbeat, and its lush pads are Detroit space-opera-grade, but at it's heart it's pure LDN. It's back to the jack on 'Real Special', a nicely sluggish basement jam with a KDJ-ish swerve, all coarse hi-hats and atonal, rave-stoking synth stabs.
