Boomkat Product Review:
French synth-rockers Zombie Zombie are back, and while it might have been four years since their last full length, none of their horror-fuelled electroid goodness has been lost in the interim. This time around they’ve been hooked up with French cosmic disco feller Joakim who has added his sonic signature somewhere in the corner, underneath the howling wolves and gaseous crypt. Having this thrusting backdrop prevents ‘Rituels D’un Nouveau Monde’ from descending into fetishistic retro cliché, and far from their contemporaries the band seem to keep a keen eye on the dancefloor. It might not have many scares, but there’s a loveable eerie quality throughout that should have sweater wearing soundtrack aficionados puffing on their pipes with glee.
