Boomkat Product Review:
Matias Aguayo gathers his Cómeme comrades for a cracking blend of Latin, EBM and lo-fi cold wave!!! We've been developing quite a taste for the Cómeme releases recently and this latest only serves to shore up our instincts as Daniel Maloso, Matias Aguayo, Christian S and Rebolledo inject a seriously kinky kinetic charge into four deceptively stoic and straight-faced tracks. Firstly Maloso's 'Ritmo Especial' comes across like Liasons Dangereuses transplanted to 2010 with leather-clad vocals and bare-arse slapping handclaps over a bruxist bassline special. Meanwhile Aguayo gives a slow and uncharacteristically tough EBM beat with typically fonky vocal inflections and 3-bob-bit-bent synthlines on 'Veneno', rubbing some Latin sensuality into the coarse industrial structure. Finally, Christian S gives the monotonous dry jack of 'Jagos' with earworming synth drones and hilarious simplicity before the highly talented Rebolledo finds the funk in an arid drum machine pattern and strange wavey vocals from Raquel Wolff affected to sound like they were sung by a glue-huffing kid from the streets of Buenos Aires. Crazy sh*t, let your hips go and your mind will follow!
