Boomkat Product Review:
Lurka puts a sharp electro-dancehall sidespin on his rolige style for Batu’s Timedance
The four prism-pushing zingers of ‘Rhythm Hi-Tek’ live up to the EP’s title in a classically UK style as informed by Caribbean and Latin American dancehall pressures. ‘Noise Point Behaviour’ steps off on a clinically tucked electro tip made nasty with raw noise, and ’ssppeedd’ kills it cold on an electro-dancehall steppers flex switching from halftime to rolling jungle tekno via stark drops. ‘Minds Eye Tript’ follows on a strutting electro motion, and the title tune turns in the tightest electro-dancehall.
