Boomkat Product Review:
Gerald Donald a.k.a. Der Zyklus presents captivatingly dystopian results from the labs in his once-a-decade LP report.
Where his last album, Biometry, was focussed on the emergence and application of a technique which is now ubiquitous across smartphones and social media, Renormalon would appear to be concerned with quantum physics and computing.
It revolves around six pieces, ranging from the synaesthetically affective drone-noise scaping in Visible Spectrum to the icily refractive electro dimensions of Interference Pattern and pitching, panic mode into the wormhole of Spatial Multiplexing on the A-side, whilst Diffeomorphism trains its sights on hyper-crisp and fluid electro, along with the patented discord of Photopolymer, and the probing, almost oto-acoustic tone of Optical Distortion.
