Boomkat Product Review:
Nicholas Jaar calls upon the incomparable Pepe Bradock to work his magic on tracks from his sensationally well-received Space Is Only noise LP. The Frenchman doesn't disappoint, channelling spy-flick shuffle-funk into a shop-soiled house groove for his Blind Pig refix of 'Too Many Kids Finding Rain In The Dust'. His Train Fantome remix of the same track is probably the choice cut, exploring murkier, dubbier techno terrain, harnessing all manner of acoustic oddity into his supple, inexorable 4/4 rhythm progression. Jaar’s fellow Circus Company's operative Dave Aju brings a warm, chugging bassline to the party for his lithe electro-funk rub of 'Soace Is Only Noise if You Can See', before Bradock returns to the fray to unleash his Mirandapella of 'Too Many Kids'. Peeling away the beats, Bradock’s richly atmospheric brew shows why he's so streets ahead of his peers while also highlighting the fertility of Jaar's source material.
