Boomkat Product Review:
Dream Catalog boss Hong Kong Express and t e l e p a t h, a.k.a. 2814 render an immersive suite of free-floating ambient soul and cinematic, sino-influenced mise-en-sound somewhere between Burial's beatless interludes, Vangelis x Bladerunner, Leyland Kirby, Mid 80's Sakamoto and Zomby's Triton-fuelled Eski re-imaginings.
It's also in places reminiscent of classic Boards of Canada, albeit rendered with a different palette - more Tomorrow's World than wildlife documentary, as well as that early naughties slant of IDM (Ulrich Schnauss, Musik Aus Strom, Kettel) that veered towards the ethereal.
If you're a fan of any of the aforementioned, this is well worth a listen.
