Boomkat Product Review:
Scrolling further back into STL's treasure trove of early recordings, 2003's 'Rain Interpretations' is among his very first releases on the fledgling Something imprint. Taking the eternal inspiration of rain as his starting point, Laubner constructs abstract and experimental atmospheres, tones and rhythms from natural recordings mixed with scientific sound research, or in his words "Multilayered spheres with down under bassbeats". The awesome 'Rainwalker' and 'Thunderstorm' are the centrepieces of this set, creating soundscapes so densely lush and synaesthetic you can almost feel the spray of mist of your skin and sense the impending drama of an oncoming storm. Riveting stuff, highly recommended!
