Boomkat Product Review:
Sacred Bones welcome one of their favourite bands to the fold with quite possibly their strongest release to date. Recorded in early 2011 the 'Radiant Door' lifts Crystal Stilts' signature veil of fuzzy fug to reveal five jangly pop aces. Opener 'Dark Eyes' showcases a new, finely-crafted studio sound, diffusing drums, woozily discordant organ and guitars into a potently psychedelic headspace, while the impeccably arranged title track feels like Roy Orbison on some mild-but-lush Hoffmans. Again, the studio trickery of guitarist and producer JB Townsend beautifully enhances the vintage jangle of 'Still As The Night', while they veer into swirling raga drone and chest-swelling tribal pop bliss on 'Low Profile' and whisky-drowned Americana lushness on 'Frost In The Asylum'. Highly impressive.
