Boomkat Product Review:
**Very cute folk-pop with sweet electronic embellishments and classic-sounding string arrangements** "First single to be taken from The Magnetic North's haunting debut album 'Orkney: Symphony Of The Magnetic North'. Erland Cooper (frontman of Erland & The Carnival) teamed up with fellow E&TC member Simon Tong (Gorillaz, Verve) and folk songstress Hannah Peel to create The Magnetic North, after being visited in a dream by the ghost of long deceased Orcadian girl. Their debut album, recorded on Orkney itself, was inspired not only by Cooper's dream but also the dramatic landscape of his homeland, with most songs being named after places, such as 'Rackwick', so called for the breathtaking bay. Here, Cooper and Peel's vocals swirl and harmonise, with echoes of Nancy & Lee and Scott Walker."
