Boomkat Product Review:
Drawing together remixes by the band themselves as well as from fellow musicians and DJs, "Rabbit Moon Remixed" finds Tarwater dissecting their own sonic makeup - or rather what was their sonic makeup when this was released, a whole decade ago. These reworkings seem to largely come from the band themselves, though there is a notable contribution from To Rococo Rot's Robert Lippok on the oddly titled 'Euroslut', a piece which seems to be held together by an eerie heartbeat recording, whilst shimmering tremolo sounds swell and decay in the mix. There are plenty of other standout moments, as on the energized buzz of the title track and the slowed-down blues jumble of 'Transfrancisco', both of which sound worlds away from the band Tarwater were to become. A compelling odds and ends collection from a band who were only just starting out on their impressive pop/electronics collision course.
