Quantum Crash Exhibition Catalogue
Further to his exhibit documentation ‘Cyberjunk OST’, John Powell Jones fuses LDSN' vocals into the murky caverns of its follow-up ‘Quantum Crash Exhibition Catalogue’.
“Quantum Crash was the first major solo presentation by John Powell-Jones, taking place across Castlefield Gallery Manchester and IMT Gallery London late last year. The exhibitions are documented in this full colour 86 page catalogue, acting as a companion piece to the previously released CYBERJUNK comic.
As part of the exhibition programme at Castlefield Gallery, artist LDSN (Lauren de Sá Naylor) was invited to perform alongside Powell-Jones at a late night opening on 2/12/2021. During the event LDSN read from a text part inspired by the exhibition, a live recording and a studio edit of the performance accompanies the publication on cassette and download.
The full piece of prose written by LDSN is featured within the publication.
Lauren de Sá Naylor writes prose and poetry; she also makes film and audio collages with interacting layers of electronic sound, voice and field recordings. Her work is informed by mythopoetics, myth making, world building and how these practices relate to her understanding of herself. Drawing from oneiromancy (a form of divination based upon dreams) and biophilia (the belief that humans are predisposed to seek connections with nature and other forms of life) her practice is a way to think through how we relate to the world, our sense of embodiment within it and our subjectivity.”
