Boomkat Product Review:
Celebrating a decade of bringing you the very finest in electronic pop quirk, Tomlab have assembled a collection of their best material over the last 10 years. Actually, that's not entirely the case: the earliest work here is Xiu Xiu's 'Suha' from 2003, but that's a mere technicality. Any such quibbles will be forgotten during The Blow's 'Parentheses' however, particularly by the time the line: "Something in the deli aisle makes you cry/Of course I'll put my arm around you and walk you outside." crops up. Other stellar contributions come from the current wave of Tomlab stars like Pitchfork-friendly faves Misha and The Books, while big names like Patrick Wolf, Deerhoof, Erase Errata and Final Fantasy all crop up to deliver the goods. Wolf's 'Wind In The Wires' recalls a time before he went all glam rock, and shows him at his very best. There's also one exclusive on the compilation: Munch Munch's campy organ blitz, 'Wedding (Pt.2)' which is a hoot and a half. Bargain.
