Boomkat Product Review:
More sublime, airy Minimalism from the Dial crew with this latest twelve from Pigon, the follow-up to last year's "Little Albio Street" EP. The twelve opens with the title track, a padded number in 4/4 that employs floating synths and a velvety bassline to delightful effect, sounding not unlike labelmate Lawrence at his most ethereal, or perhaps even the more narcotic end of the Kompakt roster. "Cottonwood" opts for more dense source material, with the track almost verging on Dub Techno with its spacey chords and brooding washes - quite brilliant stuff. "Beau Monde" ends the EP in fine form, an Isolee style squashed riff taking centre stage for a beautifully oblique little number. Great twelve - purchase with confidence.
