Boomkat Product Review:
It simply doesn't get much ruder than this. Joker makes the smart move of hooking up with his northern counterpart Rustie on the synthalicious 'Play Doe' for a low-riding romp through some of the squelchiest technicolour aquafunk you'll hear all year. The two characters have blinded us consistently with their 'ZigZag' and 'Gullybrook lane' 12"s respectively this year, so it was an obvious move to unite their skillz, with 'Play Doe' sounding like The Neptunes and Andre 3000 smoked through a Danny Weed or Wiley production and spurting out the other end with some highly concentrated synthline residue. It's dynamite dancefloor gear and just puts a stupidly massive grin on our jaded mugs. Over on the flip Rustie loads up a cheeky instrumental in the form of 'Tempered', sounding like Snoop's 'Drop It Like It's Hot' cross bred with DJ Mondie's Straight Riddim for some frame of reference, but totally beamed direct from the mind of Rustie. Super coolin' synth joints for proper bass cadets - SICK!!!
