Boomkat Product Review:
White Hole are Nicholas Bussmann and Hanno Leichtmann, known to us for his wonderful Static records on CCO, and of course his world-class tie collection. They released their first record "Waiting For Wood" under the somewhat obscure name of DJ Attaché & The Beige Oscillator on the Charhizma label, back in 2001. Musically the sound has developed some more, blending an addiction to rolling beats and drums of the fatbacked disco variety, as well as the more familiar and perhaps reliably heavy mid-tempo headnod variety. With extra guitar work from another Charizma head, Martin siewert, its interesting to hear these guys work out on some groove based material. 'Ingru' maintains a clear link to the art school lineage with some righteous dirty noises, 'Charterflug' is out and out vienna, but its surely on tracks like 'peter builts', 'truth and abstract blues' and 'Le rap du psy' where the quality shines through. Rough beats par excellence.
