Boomkat Product Review:
After recent ventures out as Pop Up with Jorg Burger and Rhythm Maker for Andy Vaz’s excellent Background label, the Electr is back. Squashed steel pans adorn the lithe drums, think of prime period detroit and sprinkle with some 002 era premium bass technology. This is the sound of Italic getting back to the nub of house and techno, deep rhythmatical electronic soul. The two revisions are in classic version style, most redolent of the formative "Aftermath" by Reel to Real- a journey inside on "Picture Yourself" followed by the strong groove of "Picturesque", think of a more wistful, but no less hook laden "Strings of Life". Praise indeed.
