Boomkat Product Review:
As it states on the sleeve "Odd Machine is an open-ended collaborative investigation/ the project will expand over time to include a wide variety of musicians", so following from Tobias Freund's experiments with Ricardo Villalobos, he enters the lab with Atom TM to create two tracks of abstract rhythmic expressionism using an array of classic hardware. Each player picks their machine, in this case Atom TM on Linn 9000/ LM2 and Tenori-On, and Freund on his favoured Roland TR-808 and mixing treatments. 'Phase In' is the kinkier and more complex of the two, revolving around slinky shuffling Latin patterns with drifting ambient tones, while 'Phase Out' on the flip sticks to a more regular pattern with abyssal subbass manipulations from Freund's NSI. compadre Max Loderbauer and complemented by luscious 3D atmospheric designs. You can be assured that the production on both tracks is of the highest standard and should massively appeal to any lovers of hi-end techno progressions. Very good indeed.
