Boomkat Product Review:
Following on from the recent peek through the curtains afforded by the 'Motorskills' 12", Perspects is back with a full-fat album of electrofried goodness that takes it's chrome bonnet and ram raids it straight into the more po-faced end of the genre. Kicking off with some moody soundscapes that come across like a digital fog ('The Soft Traffic Interrupt'), Perspects (aka Ian Clark) then cranks up the BPM through 'The Wake' and its mattress sprung beats. Landing smack in the middle of The Hacker, Radioactive Man and any number of electro bass botherers, 'The Wake' is quickly followed by the mis-wired 'We're In Separate Car', wherein Clark proffers forth a vocal that hovers charmingly around the zone occupied by Brian Ferry were he to be recast in Blade Runner. Elsewhere, 'Autobody' is the very definition of steely Euro-electro, 'Dried Funeral Siegfried' leaves gaps galore to add even more brunt to the jacking rhythm, whilst 'Too Much Too Fast' has something of the Marilyn Manson about it's gothic chill. Power to the people...!
