Boomkat Product Review:
While there's been a bit of an early '90s indie revival in the shape of all the shoegaze revisionism that's been going on over the last couple of years, Th' Faith Healers represent an altogether punkier, grittier version of the UK's pre-britpop indie landscape, and featured Tom Cullinan and Roxanne Stephen who later went on to form Quickspace. This compilation collects four of the five sessions the band recorded for John Peel's BBC radio show (the missing first session has already appeared alongside Stereolab and PJ Harvey sessions on a Too Pure compilation from the mid-nineties). Spanning Th' Faith Healers' final two years together ('92 to '94), this collection includes the last three songs they wrote, which after the split, never saw the light of day. The other track from that final session is a cover of Harry Nillson's 'Without You', which John Peel himself remarked on as being one of the best covers he'd ever heard. It is pretty ace.
