Boomkat Product Review:
Making themselves available to purchase, the dolls of PC Music giggly gang up for their first label comp. Featuring all your faves - Hannah Diamond, GFOTY, Danny L Harle, Lipgloss Twins, A.G. Cook - they now start to turn that X-amounta soundcloud listens into cold, invisible cryptocurrency with some of their choicest hot-shots, from the pointillist '90s pop acceleration of Hannah Diamond's 'Every Night' to the frankly f**king hilarious tri-step haikus of GFOTY's 'USA', thru the glassy buck and collaged imaginary idents of Lipgloss Twins' 'Wannabe', to the Tammy Girl R&B bubble of 'Keri Baby'. Marmite sh*te aside, PC Music are genuinely doing something different in light of current conservative trends: by accelerating their respective traits to breaking point or the brink of "taste" they're holding up a refractive strobing mirror to the face of rapey pop and macho, clunky EDM and showing a lot of it up for what it is; boring, numb and by-numbers. It's not for everyone, but we've seen it work with those who do like a degree of ambiguity and legit pop thrills in their music, and, like a new legal high it's proved itself from the 'floor to the forum.
