Boomkat Product Review:
Ace broken beat and garage bubblers from Herb LF, putting his anglophilic touch to tidy use on the first International Extraterrestrial platter
Active since the late ‘90s, Herb LF draws on an extensive knowledge of deeper UK dance music on both sides, coming with a wicked mix of West London breakbeat rufige balanced by jazzy, german-sounding dub chords shot straight from the hip in ‘Helicopter Money’, whereas the B-side’s Pay Day (Shift Mix)’ dances on its toes in a nimble 2-step fashion recalling early Horsepower Productions’ collages of film dialogue, funk licks and rude garage pressure.
