Boomkat Product Review:
Like so many luminaries in the field of electronic pop music, brothers Lars and Daniel Kranholt hail from Berlin, home of labels like Morr and City Centre Offices, who've helped define that sort of sound over the years. From the beginnings of the title track you'll find yourself in the sort of terrain previously trodden by the likes of Tarwater, Komeit and Static, melding delicate but beautifully judged vocals with soft, melancholy circuitry. This all comes together most convincingly on 'Idaho', with its wonderfully poised strings and a doubled-up vocal that's just about as sweetly mournful as they come. Further down the line 'Hide And Sleep' yields comparably bounteous rewards, with the most rudimentary of bitcrushed microbeats serving as a backbone for the straight-forward yet devastatingly effective chord sequences. Delightful stuff, just the thing for those of you getting increasingly impatient at the prospect of having to wait for the next Postal Service album.
