Boomkat Product Review:
Proper "wow-factor" techno, K2 number eleven is serious, classic Kompakt-style minimal techno, the kind you just don't want to take off the deck. "Part Time" opens the A side with a bubbling middle region, that somehow sounds like the missing link between Tiësto and Sähkö. Hervé Ak is a completely new french act that K2 have unearthed, and a series which has really seemed to capture the imagination of minimal kids. The flip starts with the resolute low end signals of "Serial X", closing with the beautiful, twinkling "My Favourite Smile". Absolutely kicking the pants off the side-opener in my humble opinion - the sound of this track from Nicod Herve is where the frenchman really begins to shine, and showing the kind of legs people are already beginning to expect from K2.
