Boomkat Product Review:
There's just no stopping the Funcken brothers at the moment - not content with manning the controls for the superb Shadow Huntaz, delivering another pair of killer Funckarma EP's, a dense album of soundtrackish electronics for U-cover under their Quench guise and a blistering dancefloor-bound twelve for Warp's Arcola imprint under the Cane moniker, the brothers return with their 957th release for 2004 with a shockingly good, fierce, mashed up percussive acid frenzy for the Colony imprint under the Cane moniker once more. The opening cut "Orchid" is just ridiculous - a massively destroyed crash of twisted beats at double-breaks speed, mangled into a relentless roll of furious modified acid twists that will crush you, guaranteed. "Chean" is less interesting, but flip sides for the devastating acid/squelch/breaks monster eruption "Worm" - these guys are on a mission and they're increasing the pressure! Frighteningly good stuff.
